Caerphilly Castle

On Monday we visited Caerphilly Castle along with Holly class and enjoyed learning about the Normans and their way of life. We had lots of fun! The best bit was seeing the great big Dragon in the castle grounds. An unforgettable trip. 

Library Visit

We went to Pontypridd library on Friday for a Welsh themed story and mask making session

Mia is awarded with the Diana Award

Sycamore class were very pleased to learn that Mia Thorne had won the Diana Award and was presented it by a celebrity Matt Johnson on Friday. We were very proud and were excited to be on TV! 

World Book Day

We had a few characters in for WBD 2016. First thing this morning, we had a fashion parade in assembly to show off our costumes. We did a scavenger hunt around the school yard then designed a new front cover for our favourite book. We went for a buddy reading session in Reception class, then had a big awards assembly and listened to a story from a Ms Jones. What a lovely day! 

Storytelling & Drama Workshop

As part of Welsh week, on Thursday the children were treated with a story teller from 'Big Foot Theatre Company' and then took part in a drama workshop on Friday based on the Welsh story 'Branwen'.

The children thoroughly enjoyed the experience and were very thankful for the opportunity. 

We would like them to complete some homework on this. Here is the homework sheet due in by next Friday 4th March 2016. Thanks for your continued support. 

PC Rob Delivers a lesson on Internet safety

PC Rob gave a very interesting talk regarding Internet safety. He shared some stories and discussed the dangers that our class should be aware of. The children found this session very informative and enjoyed the visit from our friend PC Rob
